HIGH Capacity

Three years ago we sent a call to all the creatures who long to claim cruising spaces and re-appropriate sensual desires and dreams. As we approach our tenth iteration, we want to reflect on the path that has led us to build capacity in the creation of our dark genderfuck techno ritual and to reach capacity on Berlin’s gentrified club map. It’s now time to share that capacity as we expand the capacity of the space where we get HIGH together. At this capacious junction we present:
A HIGH Capacity Decalogue
10 reflections from 10 rituals we can build upon for more to come!
1. It is HIGH time to step into queer time: let’s create a kinky genderfuck dark techno ceremony we can call our own!
2. Let’s explore a space of radical possibility inside the rave continuum. Let’s melt flesh, tech, sound and chemistry together in a time folded into duration that reels off sideways.
3. Our weapons are pleasure and trance, listening and understanding. We intend to support a dancing community made of flesh. We intend to create safer spaces for transfeminist rituals, not for the exaltation of DJs.
4. Weary of the useless and recursive manipulation of déca-dance music, we hack and recode all that is static and programmed by mindless social and technological dominion. If we can’t rave, it’s not our revolution.
5. We encourage you to glimpse new routes and states of existence, to experiment with choices and (per)versions of yourself you’d never thought possible. Wear some make-up (and not much more). Perceive and perform your power, share and submit your power and wisdom, and empower each other in return.
6. Rather than invest in a deferred future, we invoke an actually existing queer reality, a kernel of political possibility within a stultifying heteropatriarchal present.
7. Our motivations are curiosity and pleasure. Our methods are risk management and harm reduction. Our goals are revolution and love.
8. HIGH is about people who are interested and passionate about the same things coming together to create an unforgettable and joyous moment in time. It is a way of learning and exploring and opening up to each other to find out something new about ourselves. You only have to be faithful to what you have chosen to believe in.
9. HIGH is about bridging realities, generations, classes and undercommons, because we are all in here for the same reason – to generate meaningful intersectional queer connections that can save our lives in this pharmacopornographic capitalistic era.
10. Now we embrace HIGH Capacity: enter with intentions, not expectations. We, as organizers, can only create a capacious space and structure. It is up to us all, as attendees, to develop the capacity to make it a welcoming and accessible space for each other’s fun, connection and desire.
